Crust and Crumb: Master Formulas for Serious Bread Bakers Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I have for my entire adult life had the ambition to bake what Peter Reinhart fittingly calls "world-class" bread, but in spite of buying and reading several books dedicated to bread and much work and experimentation, the good bread eluded me. When I saw Peter Reinhart's "Crust and Crumb" advertised, I was reluctant to buy another baking book, having resigned myself to the fact that good bread cannot be baked at home. "Crust and Crumb" got me over the hump. It made me understand the chemistry and process of bread baking, and the result is that I now bake bread which is as good as any that I have had anywhere - and I have eaten a lot of good bread, including in Italy and France. And it made me understand that in order to bake good bread, you have to take it seriously, be dedicated and take the time it takes - there are few shortcuts ("poolish" starter being one of those few) and really no compromises. "Crust and Crumb" is really the only bread baking cookbook you need. Well, maybe Joe Ortiz' "Village Baker" too.

(More customer reviews)First time that this books was mentioned was from another one. My little boy has really enjoyed these stories and the little boy and girl. I look forward to getting more of this series. The questions are very good after each story.

With Sails to the Wind (Muffin Family Picture Bible) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)You will love any of the Muffin Family Bibles that you can get your hands on. I got them for my kids and now that they are grown, and after we got rid of their stuff in garage sales, I am buying to read them again to my grandson. What is there not to love about the Muffin Family Bible series? The graphics are great. The Bible stories picked hold the interest of children and then there is a modern day application based upon the Bible story with which the children can relate. I am just sorry that they are now used, but I am thankful that I can still find them.
Once you buy and read them to your kids, and grandkids, you will be thankful that there are still used copies too!
