(More customer reviews)I read this book to my friend's 6 year old son. He didn't seem as interested in this book as another I had read to him (see my review of Arctic Fives Arrive) but once we got into the story, he seemed to enjoy it. The plot is one of a cat who makes 12 cookies and wants to share with his friends. He begins with 4 cookies for each of his two friends and himself but quickly dashes through a series of yummy mishaps. As another reviewer commented, he did not understand the concept of division but did know what sharing equally meant.
Finally, the cat is able to come to a solution but after that, the friends keep trying to evenly share their treat with the cat (5 pages worth of back and forth chatter) which lost my kid's attention. However, I was able to regain it by bringing out 12 real cookies that I had brought with me and we did a couple of the activities in the back before getting a glass of milk.
