Whether you're interested in wholesome eating using ingredients such as wheat flours and honey, or if you're just looking for great muffins, nut breads, etc., this book covers it all. I've received rave reviews of my Banana Bread and all of my muffins thanks to this book. The authors provide a 'Quick Mix' recipe for ease in making recipes often. You'll find recipes for everything from pancakes, popovers, coffee cakes, biscuits, savory dinner breads as well as the muffins and nut breads. ENJOY!

(More customer reviews)This is a fantastic book for anyone looking for both standard and interesting muffin recipes.
The recipes are given full colour photographs with very easy-to-follow step-by-step guidelines. There is even a section at the beginning actually showing each of the basic steps needed to bake muffins from scratch.
With this book you can go from just ingredients to delicious mouth watering muffins in under an hour (including cooling time so you don't scorch you mouth!) with very little effort.
The variety of recipes in this book is fantastic, with some very "out there" savoury ones that I probably will never try, but if you want to impress your friends, then go ahead!
I would heartily recommend this book even to a relative cooking novice, you just have to follow the instructions. And for the price, you really can't beat it.

(More customer reviews)The Anti-Muffins was originally written as a chapter of Madeleine L'Engle's 1960 novel Meet the Austins. At the time, however, the themes of diversity and tolerance were considered controversial, and the publisher made her leave this chapter out of the published book. Many years later the missing chapter was published separately as The Anti-Muffins. This little book is long out of print, and sometimes sells for about $60 used.
The good news is that the 1999 hardcover edition of Meet the Austins includes this chapter in the novel for the first time. Unless you're a serious L'Engle collector, you can skip this rare book and buy the Meet the Austins hardcover instead. It's one of her best books, and well worth getting in hardcover.

(More customer reviews)I want to congratulate the author and the publisher for this Audio Book, as my nephew, the owner of this audio book, can't stop being entertained and doesn't want to let it go. He keeps asking for it to be played over and over again and tries to sing even before he can speak properly, and even his parents will be able to recite the dialogue soon! I'm glad I found this and I gave it to him as a present! I have no doubt that his imagination is expanding a lot with this audio book. Highly recommended for any children, parents, grannies, and uncles & aunts.

The butter crackers and hamburger buns were wonderful, but the hazelnut-buckwheat muffins were just so-so, and Mrs. McNab's Scones were so salty I had to throw them out. The book is fun to explore, though, and there's even a recipe for dog biscuits that my spaniel has been urging me to try...
