Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook Momentum Program Edition Review

I gave it a 3 star review because ii is IDENTICAL to the 2006 edition. I have just sat and compared the indexes for both books and so far have found NO difference. In fact, the cover picture for this edition is the picture from page 241 in the 2006 edition.
However, if you are looking for a good Betty Crocker meets WW type cookbook, then either edition (since they are the same) will fit the bill nicely and be a good addition to any WW'ers kitchens :)

Betty Crocker's Cooking for Two Review

Everytime I cook something from this book my husband loves it -- just once! No more leftovers! You can through out your Tupperware and start cooking the right amount for two. The ones I've tried have been really tasty and healthy too; the portions aren't skimpy either. I like that the nutrition info is so clear.

All of Nickie Dumke's books are excellent. She is extremely dedicated to helping others through allergy trials and brings years of experience to the task. Although worth buying just for the helpful recipes, they are also just what the title says: survival guides. And that's how I have used them to help me during periods of very severe food allergies and chemical sensitivities. I thank God for providing such a fountain of help during such a trying time.

Kneadlessly Simple: Fabulous, Fuss-Free, No-Knead Breads Review

Kneadlessly Simple: Fabulous, Fuss-Free, No-Knead Breads
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I don't write a lot of Amazon reviews, but this new book deserves it. I'm not sure I understand all of the science behind the technique, but I love the results. The recipes I've tried so far are the "pot breads," meaning that they're baked in a cast-iron pot with the lid on it, and the results have been impressively crusty loaves, even better than what I get in many bakeries (and far better than anything I can get in the supermarket). But what I think is most interesting is how the author gives so many options for rise time. If I'm busy and can't bake the loaf until the next day, I choose the long rise (anywhere from 4 to 24 hours, depending on the recipe). She is also gives 1- to 2-hour OR 2- to 3-hour rise options. That's what I like when I'm baking bread at home -- options. And as they title claims, there is no kneading involved. Again, I don't really understand the how's and why's here (though the author does explain it), but I really like not having a kitchen counter covered with flour. Yes, sometimes I think kneading can be fun, but most of the time I'm a little too busy for all the fuss (full-time job, teenage daughter, you get the idea). I'm excited to try the pizza dough recipe, because I love making pizza at home. And a friend made the Double Chocolate-Honey Bread (the photo in the book is gorgeous), and wow, it's amazingly good. I really think this book is worth a try.

Recipes from the Moon: More Recipes from the Horn of the Moon Cafe Review

Recipes from the Moon: More Recipes from the Horn of the Moon Cafe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Recipes From the Moon is full of positively mouth-watering, healthful dishes. They are easy and quick to prepare and taste like they came from a gourmet restaurant, only with less fat, sodium, and cholestrol. Whereas the original Horn of the Moon Cookbook is loaded with recipes calling for butter, cheese, cream, and eggs, Recipes From the Moon holds back on these ingredients, substituting healthful alternatives without sacrificing taste. Recipes From the Moon is like a breath of fresh air. Now I not only enjoy cooking and eating, but I can feel confident that I'm not filling my body up with artery-clogging, blood pressure-raising food products. If you want to prepare healthful dishes without losing the taste, try Recipes From the Moon. If you're ever in Montpelier, VT, go to the Horn of the Moon Cafe, the very spot where these mouth-watering dishes were invented!!!

How to Cook for Crohn's and Colitis: More Than 200 Healthy, Delicious Recipes the Whole Family Will Love Review

How to Cook for Crohn's and Colitis: More Than 200 Healthy, Delicious Recipes the Whole Family Will Love
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. It is terrible, and completely not as advertised. The title led me to think that this was a book of recipes for those suffering flareups of Crohn's or ulcerative colitis. However, most of the recipes have ingredients that are NOT good for IBD patients at least during flare-ups. Red meat, frying, spices and insoluble fiber are spread throughout these recipes and anyone who knows anything about this knows that these are not advised. Maybe these things work for you Brenda, and that's great, but they don't work for everyone and at a minimum, your book does not really give full disclosure on this. I would suggest that the next edition have a better more accurate title and better disclaimers on the individual to individual variation in ability to tolerate the types of food ingredients I have noted here.
For a really GOOD book for IBD patients, I'd refer you all to What to Eat with IBD by Tracie Dalessandro, MS, RD, CDN. She really gets it right.
Happy eating and recovery all.
